Rail transportation from China

Statistics show a 15% year-on-year increase in the volume of cargo transported by rail from China. This growth demonstrates the continued popularity of rail routes for international transportation and their importance in global logistics

Cheaper than “air” and faster than “water”: container trains from China

The People’s Republic of China is the world’s largest goods-producing country. Our eastern partner produces virtually everything from pins to cars. Rail transportation from China to Minsk is becoming an increasingly popular service. Planning to expand your business? Aerostar will help you to solve the issue of delivery of goods from the Celestial Empire.

The issue of cargo delivery from China to Belarus determines the success of business. Cargo transportation by road at such a distance is unprofitable on all positions, so it is used only for the final distribution of goods. As a result, the customer has three options:

Air cargo transportation from China to Belarus. The fastest and the most expensive way.
Transportation by sea. The longest, but also the cheapest way.
Rail transportation from China is the middle option between the first two. They are 2-3 times more expensive than the sea way, but the same number of times faster.

If you don’t want to wait too long and overpay, choose railroad. It is less dependent on meteorological conditions than other routes, so it will help you organize a profitable business with predictable delivery conditions.

The Silk Road passes through Minsk

The first railroad trains from China went to Europe in 2010. Geographically, the territory of our eastern partner has obvious distortions: major cities are located closer to the coast, while inland desert areas lag behind in development. Railway cargo delivery from China has become an excellent support for the economic recovery of the western regions of this country.

The PRC government adopted a program of subsidizing problem regions. The funds were used to build and improve railroad tracks. The development was on the rise:

In 2013, a connection between Zhengzhou and Hamburg was established. Half of Europe acted as transit states. Collected goods and containers were delivered to Poland and from there by road to Belarus.
In 2016, cargoes started to be delivered from China directly to Minsk by rail. Before that, they were first delivered to Brest, and from there they were transported to Minsk by road.
In 2018, international consoles (consolidated cargo services) in the cities of Chongqing and Changsha opened direct delivery to Minsk. If earlier one flight per week was allocated for railroad delivery from China, today we are talking about two flights per day.

An important factor of transportation acceleration was the use of a changeable wheelset. If earlier it was necessary to stand idle for a long time when reloading containers from narrow gauge railcars to wide gauge railcars and vice versa, now it is lost maximum one day. Your cargo arrives in Minsk in the agreed terms and is unloaded at the temporary storage warehouse. Accuracy is the courtesy of the kings of business!

Why do you need an Aerostar?

Container trains are formed at three consoles – Zhengzhou, Chongqing and Changsha. Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia act as transit countries on the way to the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Accordingly, the crossing points Zabaikalsk, Dostyk and Zymyn-Uud will be used. The scheme of the traffic organized by Aerostar is as follows:

The essence of the proposal in facts and figures

  • Delivery both by full 40ft containers and by bulk cargo directly to Minsk.
  • Transit time of cargo movement is about 16 days. Thus from Zhengzhou console the way to Brest is 11-12 days, plus 3-4 days for delivery to Minsk. From Chongqing and Changsha consoles, railcars take 15-16 days to reach Minsk.
  • Cargo capacity of containers is up to 24 tons without imposing additional costs on the customer.
  • When shipping cargo from China by rail, it is possible to complete a collection of containers from several consignees. Flexible tariffs are linked to the payment for the actual volume of the container. You do not pay for air.

  • The possibility of organizing the movement of goods in the direction of Belarus – China.
